Trump: Death Penalty for cop killers
In this article, Trump discusses how he will have a death penalty for cop killers, if he gets elected president. It is stated that the death penalty is legal at the federal level and prosecutors can see capital punishment, but i's unclear on how an executive action can be used in regards of this case. Although it is not relatable in this topic, Trump brought back the issue on how he would ban Muslims from entering the United States. He wants this to be a fair country with better security, being given the right training to fit this job. Not only will they be given the right training, they will be given better equipment.
Based on this article about cop killers death penalty, I don't think it would make sense in my opinion because then we would be losing two bad guys. In our society today, cops don't see what is right and what is wrong; they're taking advantage of their power by doing whatever they want to do. Rather than trying to accuse someone so quickly, they should be able to do a background check. There has been viral stories of how cops are misunderstanding people's situation and don't even give these people a chance to say their side. Unless it is a real issue, cops should really get into the constitutional rights.

Current Event #14:
Donald Trump promises 'deportation force' to remove 11 million
This article focuses on the deportation force that Trump is trying to enforce "humanely." Alongside his deportation idea, he also proposed ending birthright citizenship, which is included in the 14th amendment. His idea is to take 11 million immigrants and take them back to the border. John Kasich and Jeb Bush are against his idea because they think it would be very difficult to do so and it makes no sense at all. Hillary Clinton also had her own opinion and tweeted that "the idea of tracking down and deporting 11 million people is absurd, inhumane, and un-American."
Based on this article, I don't see how this would affect me in anyway. Although, I'm not positively sure that my grandparents are immigrants or not, but there's no way in determining if they're illegal immigrants. If they were, they would've been gone a while ago. So I don't see why this is such an issue if these "illegal immigrants" are here just to be employed. If they were doing something wrong, then sure, deport them. But then again, there's no point into tracking down EVERY SINGLE illegal immigrant.

Current Event #12:
Hillary Clinton is consistently late. And voters are starting to notice.
This article is about how Hillary has been at least and hour late to her scheduled meetings. The campaigns she was supposed to be speaking at has been impatiently waiting for her, and her excuse was that she was at a fundraiser and many more such as being distracted by voters just before she comes in. There are many people at these campaigns here to support her, yet it looks as if she's taking advantage or not caring. The crowd, standing for a long time now, doesn't see the purpose in waiting if Clinton is just wasting their time; staff and other candidates already know her consistent tardiness.
Being a candidate in the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton isn't giving much of a great impression to the voters. Nobody would want someone who isn't on top of things, someone who waste other peoples times, and who would come up with excuses to get out of something. There's a motto that I've learned in middle school from one of my teachers which was, "if you're not early, you're late." Hillary Clinton should be more considerate of these peoples times because everyone is losing faith in her.

Raise smoking age to 21 and regulate e-cigs, pediatricians urge
This article is about how the age of buying and smoking cigarettes should be raised to 21 years old. Based on this article, many pediatricians believe that the age should be raised due to a shorter life span of those who do smoke. Given the research, it has been said that many teens are smoking when their brain is still developing, which can cause major consequences. These doctors believe that if the age of smoking is raised, that we would have a larger population and people, such as teens, would have a longer life span and be more knowledgeable since their brain cells are being fully developed.
In my opinion, I think that raising the age of buying cigarettes and smoking would be pointless. I agree that teens today are addicted to smoking while their brain is still developing, but they are still teens and will find ways to do what they want regardless of the rules/law. Many people, not just teens still smoke consistently. These people smoke these certain drugs because they favor the affect it has on them, so e-cigs wouldn't be doing these people any justice.

Heaven over hospital: Dying girl, age 5, makes a choice:
This article is about a little girl named Julianna Snow, who is diagnosed with Charcot Marie Tooth disease (CMT). At her early aged years, her mom realized that she wasn't able to do what other babies were doing at her age such as sitting up right or walking, so she had Julianna checked and, still in her early years, the doctors weren't able to determine whether or no she was diagnosed with anything. Julianna's mother, Michelle, remembered about her husband's abnormal feet and had them tested, when they then found out about CMT. Growing up, Julianna had been in and out of the hospital getting treated for her disease, and every visit, she'd still have a hard time breathing. This disease has been said that babies diagnosed with it don't live past 2 years old, but Julianna is still here hanging on a thread. Going through all those trials, Julianna is not only sick with this disease, but she's sick of all of these treatments, so her she has asked that when the flu or another type of sickness that triggers her CMT comes around, that she doesn't want to be treated at the hospital, but rather die in bed at home.
Being a relative of many people diagnosed with any type of sickness, I know the many treatments that they go through and the hassle that comes with it; what I don't know is the physical and mental pain that they feel. In my opinion I think that at age 5, there is still a lot to look forward to on life, but in Julianna's case, knowing the research on CMT, who knows how long she has? Being sick, I feel as if the patient should be the one to lift up the flag whenever they feel like they've had enough because they're the ones in pain. Being put to sleep, I feel as if it would be better since they won't be in physical pain. But at Julianna's age, I feel as if she still has a long way to go, so she should just try as best she could to stay strong, maybe it could be cured.

Current Event #8:
Debate: What Role Should Religious Leaders Play in Politics?This article is about how the first pope ever, Pope Francis, gave a speech before a joint meeting for Congress. Pope Francis put his input on the major subjects the government have issues on. He uses the Golden Rule to introduce his topic and ideas. What Pop Francis mainly focuses on is immigration, climate change, and protecting human life. Being himself, Pope supports both the Democrats and the Republicans on some issues, but also puts his input on them.
In my opinion, I think that, based on the First Amendment on how there should be a separation with the church and government, we should take the words of Pope Francis into consideration due to his useful ideas. Because it's religion, we shouldn't have everything focused on the idea of the word of God. As a free country, not everyone would follow religious actions, especially if they're not religious, but we should take it into consideration. The words from Pope Francis has affected many already in just a short amount of time so maybe he could be right.

Delaware police shoot man in wheelchair; relatives ask why
This article is about a handicapped man, Jeremy McDole, who has been shot for being armed with a .38 caliber. Being in a wheelchair, you can't really do much, so this not only makes the police look bad, but as everyone wondering why. Jeremy was on the sidewalk when the police had their guns pointed at them. When they told him to put his hands up, he didn't go by their word, but rather just kept his hands in his lap. The cops assumed that he was going for his gun that he had placed at his waist, which triggered their reflex to shoot him. Phyllis McDole, Jeremy's mother, was witnessing what was happening and she explained it quite differently. She said that he just had his hands on his lap, and for this reason, she doesn't know why her 28-year-old son has been shot. All she had to say was, "This is unjust."
In my opinion, i feel as is the cops nowadays are taking things to an extent; they're not thinking before they do. Just because these people have a badge, doesn't give them permission to do whatever they want. These cops are supposed to be protecting us from crime, yet they're focusing on the less important, that have no reason to be getting attacked from them. I honestly feel that we really can't trust cops anymore. What will they do for us? Yes, they're trying to keep us safe, but they're really doing it wrong. I read another article and watched a video of about 4-5 cops beating down a 16-year-old boy for J-walking. This boy was doing what everyone else does. yet they chose a child to beat down. He wasn't even doing anything wrong. What I don't understand is why it's so hard to choose the right people for this job and what kind of logic these cops have going through their head.
